I MET A MAN LAST NIGHT

His father sent him out to work
when he was nine or ten
His mother feared he was a bit to young
It wasn’t long before his path was clear and he’d to leave
He found a group of men that went along

His blood flowed like water from the wound upon his side
His head hung in silence and they knew that he had died
72 hours seemed so long since he’d been gone
they came to find him dead
but he saved their lives instead
